If you know the Aussies, you know they’re serious about brunches. We took a trip down to Australia couple months back, and we couldn’t resist but to fall in love with the Instagram-worthy cafes they have in the down-under. The smell and taste of their fragrant, freshly roasted cuppa coffee and some wholesome food really lingers in our mouth. Luckily, we’ve found some endearing Aussie cafes in Singapore so we can share the Aussie brunch experience with you.
Founded in Sydney 18 years ago and opened in Singapore in 2011, this café is the real deal for an Aussie brunch experience. Strategically located by the Singapore River, it’s a picturesque place to relax, have a good cuppa and catch up with some friends. We also recommend trying their Eggs Benedict, a classic Aussie brunch choice.
The name itself comes from a combination of (Melb)ourne and (A)sia. The café serves a perfect mixture of Western and Asian cuisines, but with a very Melbourne café vibe. Coming here will have you feeling like you’re chilling in the artsy streets of South Yarra. Bring your kids out to the Goodman Arts Centre outlet for a good time in their bouncy castle while you catch up on some reading.
Jones the Grocer
We’re loving the unique café-grocer vibe of Jones the Grocer—definitely an Aussie experience. With their choices of delicious food and modern ambiance, it’s the perfect place for weekend breakfast or brunches. Kill two birds with one stone and get a little grocery shopping done here, where you can find gourmet products that you wouldn’t find elsewhere in Singapore.
The House of Robert Timms
With a rustic yet comfy ambiance, this is a great place to indulge in sweet and savory Australian classics. Located in the popular Marina Bay, it’s easily accessible for both tourists and locals to come and relax.
