Art, food, culture and a good time—Shake Shack’s opening a new shack in the he(art) of Singapore’s Central Business District. New York’s iconic burger, hot dog and frozen custard stand is set to bring a combination of food and art in a historical building on 89 Neil Road. The artistic concept of the second shack is designed to complement the culturally rich neighborhood of Tanjong Pagar—and, also a note to its New York origins!
The prominent standalone building from 1924 has a rich history of its own, as it used to be the Eng Aun Tong factory where Singapore’s famous Tiger Balm was produced for close to 50 years. In respect to the arts, the second Shack continues to work with local purveyors and artists to create a fun and lively gathering place in the city.
